Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani is currently hosted at the meeting by the president of Pottualia, Marcelo Rebelo de Soussa, who has thanked him for his decades-long support to Kosovo, seeking support even on the path to Euro-Atlantic integration.
Osmani has stressed that Kosovo is implementing sweeping reforms in the economy and rule of law, thus proving to be a credital partner, but also as a state developing based on EU values. In this context, it has suggested that Kosovo is aimed at EU and NATO membership as the primary and strategic goals, meanwhile thanked Portugal, which is a strong sign of visa liberalisation for Kosovo.
For the dialogue process with Serbia, Osmani has stressed that Kosovo is committed to regional co-operation and constructive relations with neighbours, noting that full normalisation of relations with Serbia should include mutual recognition.
President Osmani at the meeting with counterpart De Soussa has demonstrated Kosovo's readiness for deepening co-operation with Portugal not only in the realm of politics and diplomacy but also in the field of trade, tourism, defence, education, culture, as well as professional training.
