Twenty-four years from October 1 student protests

It was the then-October 1st Student Movement that organised the protests, which were organised to oppose the invasion of Kosovo by Serbia and the return of students to university facilities, from which students were expelled from the regime of the butcher Slobodan Milosevic in the early 1990s.

Apart from the violent measures the regime had imposed years earlier at the university, it expelled students and professors from the university and imposed the Serbian teaching program.

These protests are considered one of the most important acts of the time, writes the KP.

To disperse the peaceful protest, Serbian police used violence against students and professors.
