“Today, in the inability to be in Ljubljana physically, through a videoconference LDK chairman Lumir Abdixhiku participated in the European People's Party Summit (PPE) for the Western Balkans alongside PEP President Donald Tusk, European Commission Presidents Ursula von Lejen, Slovenia's Prime Minister Janez Janšha, Austria's Chancellor Sebastian Kurz, Greek Prime Minister Kyria Mitsotakis, Croatian Prime Minister Andrejnikov and a series of prime ministers, prime ministers of the opposition of the Western Balkans,<2nd).
In the wake of the EU Summit, to be held tomorrow, the EU's top representatives reiterated the European future of the Western Balkans.
“Mayor Abdixhiku requested that the EU apply the same standards for this part of the region by liberalising visas for Kosovo and that the other five EU nations recognise the Republic of Kosovo, as well as pave the way for our state towards the European Union”, the LDK suggests in this communiqué.
