Kosovo Mayors have called for lifting restrictions on citizens' movement from October 17th, days when local elections will also be held
Kosovo Communist Association Director Sahan Ibrahimi in an interview for Online Economy said there are many arguments for the removal of the curfew.
Since 17 October is the day of municipal elections, he says a large number of commissioners will work until late hours.
Until he mentioned that many of the municipalities would be won without a run-off, which, according to him, may also have a holiday in those municipalities.
Abraham is stressing that the situation, which he is considering to be necessary for lifting the restriction of movement, should not be provoked.
“The mayors of the municipalities demand that as of October 17th, when it is the local election day to lift the freedom of movement, there are some arguments about why this should be done, and during that day, and during that night we will have a large number of observers, but also commissioners who will move but who will stay until the late hours, evening, the other argument is that in some municipalities are expected to win mayors without a runoff, and in those municipalities there may be a reason for them not to be provoked, so that the situation is not provoked after the hour 22: an argument that removes the ban of the next movement of the AKK and that is expected to move even before a person who moves himself.
Ibrahim adds that lifting the restriction of movement will continue after October 17th, until he said that within 2-3 days their demand will be considered.
According to him, it should not spoil the charm of local democracy because Kosovo is considered to have reached a maturity in terms of the election body.
The requirement is to start leaving the police hour since October 17th, it should be considered that since 2000, this election has been like a holiday and it is the first time we have such a restriction, on the day of local elections, and therefore we seek central level understanding because it is possible that in municipalities there will be a party during that night and not destroy the charm of local democracy because Kosovo is considered to have reached a maturity with regard to the local body of elections, and especially the”
The same demand for lifting the restriction of movement is applied to the Central Election Commission.
