Trees in Pristina this year are being sold at significantly higher prices than in the preceding year. These days, overpriced prices have especially been featured compared to the summer months.
Yesterday in Pristina's wood markets, one cubic metre according to woodowners has been sold at the price of 50 euros and higher. Meanwhile, according to businessmen, but also the buyers of capitalis, years at this time 1m of wood has reached 35-40 euros.
The Economic Bulletin has contacted even today some loggers, who in one way or another reason to raise the high price of heating wood. According to them, there are several factors that have contributed to this increase in the price of wood.
Ylber Selimi of Kamenica said that wood prices have increased over the past few years due to increased fuel prices, at first rate, but also because of the year-on-year lack of wood due to forest reduction as a result of year-long cut and no control.
There's been a lot of wood supply this year after the prices of many different products have increased. The price of oil and all other fuels has increased, and this has necessarily contributed to the increase in the price of wood. High prices have also affected time, weather cooling, and, as noted, forest shortages” has said.
He also said that there are currently more demands in this period than in the same period in the past years, since there is fear that there will be an even greater price for certain products, and especially fear that the price of electricity will rise, so people want their insurance.
Even Naser Beqiri from Pristina also claimed there has been an increase in the price of wood.
Beqiri said this increase has occurred as a result of rising oil prices and other products.
The wood meter currently costs 45-50 euros. It's also more expensive, and their meter is about 48-50 euros”, Beqiri said, among other things.
