He has said that in the six countries of the Western Balkans, there should not be EU funds without European values, thus referring to the failure to give a specific date for accession of the region to the large European family.
Kurti, among other things, has mentioned not removing the visa regime for Kosovo citizens, as the last country in the region that does not enjoy such a right.
He has remembered that three years have passed since the European Commission recommended visa liberalisation for Kosovo for the second time.
I encourage skeptical leaders in the EU to be aware of the progress achieved in Kosovo and to abolish the dispute regime for our citizens. In the six Western Balkan countries, there should not be EU funds void of value. We need to build the EU in our countries, but we need help from outside”, Kurti said.
He has welcomed today's Declaration of the EU-Western Balkans Summit, while giving his remarks.
We believe that when referring to the Western Balkans, we should say the six countries of the Western Balkans, as there are six states. We believe the summit should condemn the commitment of Serbia's military to the Kosovo border -- the MIIG-29 planes flew near the border, and the Russian ambassador to Belgrade came to inspect the gathering of Serbian troops there. On 17 June, during our meeting in Brussels, I have proposed to the president of Serbia that we sign the Peace Declaration for not aggression, but he refused to do so”, Prime Minister Kurti said.
