The meeting was held after the operation and the engagement of special police units in the northern part of the Republic of Kosovo.
Among them was Besart Ahmeti, chief of the Special Operations Unit, who was the leader of the operation in the north.
Kurti said Ahmeti reunited after 16 years while sharing even a photograph when Ahmeti had arrested Kurti at the time during a protest by the Vetevendosje Movement.
“In my office in the prime minister, today I hosted the Kosovo Police Interior Minister and Senior Leader. Among them was Besart Ahmeti, whom I retakted closely after 16 years. Captain Ahmeti has professionally led special unit police in Brnjak and has conducted excellent field negotiations there. We didn't shake hands with each other because of the pandemic”, Kurti wrote.
In 2015, at violent protests staged by the Vetevendosje Movement, Special Operations Unit Chief Besart Ahmeti had been seriously injured in the head and one eye and had gone to Turkey for treatment.
Ahmeti had also witnessed the prosecution in 2010 when Kurt was accused of obstructing the official person during the official duty.
Kurti during the hearings held has dismissed all charges weighing on her.
I've dismissed all their charges, and none of the three policemen who witnessed the prosecution, Besart Ahmeti, Christe Gjokaj and Ismet Hajdini, have confirmed the prosecution's claims. However, despite these, throughout today's session it was found that the charges against me, even not enough, come from the prosecutor, as far as EULEX's own judge”, Kurti said after the 9-month sentence was pronounced.
