This has been confirmed by the Government of Kosovo and the European Union.

On Thursday, October 21st, the first meeting of the technical group for vehicle plates will be held. This meeting will consider options for a permanent solution based on three key principles: the solution should be according to European Union standards and practices, ii) to be applicable and apply to both sides, ii) and whether one side blocks the achievement of a common solution or does not implement what is agreed on then is the block of dialogue. At this first meeting no decision is expected to be made”, the government's spokesman, Kryeziu's Progress for Express, has declared.

Meanwhile, EU spokesman Peter Stano has declared to T7 that the task force aims to find a permanent find on the license plate issue.

The first meeting of the working group for car license plates with experts from both sides will be held on 21 October. The processing group aims to find a permanent solution to the issue”, Stano has declared.

Stano added that the expert working group is expected to meet regularly.

On September 20th, the Kosovo government imposed the reciprocity measure for license plates from Serbia. This decision was followed by protests and rioting barricades in the vicinity of two border crossings linking Kosovo and Serbia: Jarinje and Brnjak.

On September 30th, with the European Union's mediation, the parties reached a temporary solution, and the two states on October 4th began placing stick tags on state symbols on the license plates.

Under this agreement, Kosovo and Serbia will form a working group, which within six months will reach a sustainable solution to the issue of freedom of movement.
