Christopher Robert Hill is an American diplomat who is currently George E. Ball at Columbia University in New York City. Previously, he was the chief adviser to the Chancellor for Global Action and Professor of Practice at the University of Denver. Prior to that position, he was Dean of the Joseph Corbel School of International Studies in Universities, a position he held from September 2010 to December 2017.
He also served as a special envoy to Kosovo during 1998-1999.
Hill joined the State Department in 1977. He served as Secretary for Economic Affairs at the US Embassy in Seoul from 1983 to 1985.
And US Ambassador to Kosovo Havenier is currently the deputy head of the US Embassy mission in Ankara, Turkey.
He also served at the US Embassy in Berlin, as well as in US missions in Croatia, Greece, Panama, Paraguay and Peru.
In Washington, he has carried out the duty of Director for Central and Southeast European Affairs at the National Security Council and the State Department Bureau for European and Eurasian Affairs responsible for NATO and Central European Affairs.
His nomination must be confirmed by the American Senate.
In June 2018, former Kosovo President Hashim Thaci decorated the diplomat Hovier with the Jubilar Presidential Medal of Independence.
