The Kosovo Prosecutorial Council said on Monday in a statement to the media that the reason for leaving the meeting was the non-recognition of the Ministry of Justice by the lynching statements of Deputy Justice Minister Blerim Sa Godi, who has named prosecutors as “involved to criminal activities”.

After statements of stances and inaction by the Ministry of Justice, representatives of the Prosecutorial Council, State Prosecutor and Special Prosecutor of Kosovo have issued the” meeting, the KP's public response reported.

Below, find the position of the prosecutorial system, presented today to the Justice Ministry Workers Group:

Dear “members of this processing group,

Dear international partners,

Honored representatives of the Justice Ministry,

Our presence as the institutional representative of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, the State Prosecutor respectively, at this meeting is a sign of respect and appreciation we have for international partners and other actors who are part of the processes, which in various forms and ways have helped and are helping the country's institutions, with particular emphasis on justice.

As you are aware, three days ago, Deputy Justice Minister, Mr. Blerim Sallan called prosecutors involved in criminal activities and criminal pyramids. A language that is unpretentious, unacceptable, lynching and out of every nationly and institutional logic.

To such a language, we have reacted, where we have sought to distance executive power from such statements. This distance hasn't happened yet, and this does not create room for inter-institutional co-operation and extremely undermine mutual respect.

It's pointless that we talk in terms of respect, college and trust with someone who calls prosecutors involved in criminal activities.

The failure of this language implies prejudices of those that were created without basis and are biased and this raised a serious dilemma in the true aim of sponsors to undermine institutional independence in the name of changes and legal reforms in the course of this is and the latest draft of changes to the Law for the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council.

Therefore, we cannot continue to be part of this group without a public reflection and distance of Deputy Justice or Executive Power.

So we expect a clear and public reflection and attitude regarding the issues raised so that they can participate in these meetings.

Thank you for your attention and that's how our stay on this meeting ends.

The Kosovo Prosecutorial System remains committed and open to co-operating with all without exception, within professional principles, always maintaining the division of powers and institutional independence, and in this direction it is essential to build mutual trust, cultivate a constructive approach, without prejudice and based on objective. ”
