In a post in Titter, KFOR says they welcome the extension of the situation and have reiterated that they will stay for about two weeks in the north to ensure a safe environment and freedom of movement.
“KFOR welcomes the extension of the situation in the northern part of Kosovo, and for the next two weeks it will maintain a robust and skilled temporary presence in the area, in line with the UN Security Council's 1244 agreement and Resolution, to ensure a safe environment and freedom of movement”, it is said in the post.
Today, after 13 days, the Kosovo Special Unit has left the border crossings in Jarinje and Brnjak.
Special units were deployed on Monday, September 20th, following the government's decision on reciprocity with Serbia for vehicle plates.
The delegations of Kosovo and Serbia, with European Union mediating, have reached compliance on September 30th on the issue of license plates and unblocking the north.
