NATO-led KFOR's “Mission has started steps in support of the implementation of the recent de-passing agreement in northern Kosovo reached between Pristina and Beorad within the facilitated dialogue by the European Union”, the communiqué says.
KFOR has also indicated that in response to developments in northern Kosovo, they have increased the number of patrols on roads which are blocked by barricades.
“Starting this weekend, for two weeks straight, KFOR will stay temporarily in this area, in accordance with the agreement mentioned and in line with the mandate that dates from Security Council Resolution 1244 to ensure a safe and secure environment for all communities living in Kosovo”, the announcement concludes.
