ECDS Chief Executive Chief Alpin Dogan has hosted Kosovo Economica Chairman Berat Rukiqi at the meeting today, with which the current power supply situation, with a focus on business, was discussed.
The energy crisis that has also affected the Balkans has made the security of electricity supply a challenge for institutions that are part of the electro-energenetic chain link. Therefore, KED is conducting inter-informative inter-institutional meetings with various acts in the country in order to find solutions for overcoming this crisis.
During the meeting, KED chief chief Alpin Dogan said that in terms of KEDS, the preparations needed for the winter have been made, but the challenge will be energy import, which, according to him, prices have reached record figures on international markets.
“KEDS as always has made all necessary preparations on the ground. Practical action has been taken that will enable literal distribution of electricity to the last consumer. However, the energy crisis has certainly affected Kosovo. The price of energy import has multiplied, while the winter supply will be affected by many factors. The use of energy for heating and continued growth in energy demand, therefore the need for higher import, will be among the main challenges this winter”, Dogan said.
Meanwhile, the chairman of the Kosovo Economic Ode, Berat Rukiqi, expressed his readiness for co-operation so that this crisis can be overcome as easily and without consequences for businesses.
“We like Ode, during this time, will be in constant co-ordination and daily communication with businesses, to inform them of the flow of the electricity supply so that they become less effective in the activities they exercise. ”, Rukiqi added.
At the end of this meeting, The KEDS and the Economic Oda of Kosovo agreed to continue so far communication and jointly with other institutions that are part of the energy link, to review all proposals and recommendations so that the crisis can be overcome successfully.
