Journalist Halil Berisha is continuing his testimony at the trial hearing against former heads of the KLA War Veterans Organisation.
During his testimony, he also shared a passage that reminded him of the war that he was only six years old at the time.
Berisha at the Special Court showed how Serb forces had forcibly removed him and his family from home and had been forced to seek refuge in Albania.
He told how he had come upon dead bodies, without bread and without water.
I may be young, but I've been through the war. I was six years old at the time of the war when during the time when I and my family and other citizens were forced out of our apartment, our home. We've left hard and have been forced to leave for Albania. What I'm saying is easier than others can say. I, as a six-year-old, have walked towards the border without bread, without water, and Serbian forces have also put dead bodies on the street and as a six-year-old child had to cross over them”, he said.
This is a sensitive subject for us. It's a topic that's been explained every day to us, and that's why we thought this was of public interest to the report on this matter”, he said further.
