Hague hearing ends, Haradinaj's Gucat trial continues on November 4th

Following the prosecution's questions, witness Miro Yukiq, who is the leader of the security team and the treatment of witnesses to the SPS, has answered the court's questions.

Yukiq has said that after the SPS files have been leaked to the public, many of the witnesses have expressed concern and some of them were threatened.

He has not shown how many of them had been threatened directly.

Very few had taken direct threat, not much, less than 100”, the SPS witness said.

He has said the SPS has displaced two people from Kosovo because they have been scared.

“More than one, two people have been displaced...until 30 people were taken security measures”, witness Yukiq has responded.

During his testimony, Yukiq has said that one of the witnesses had called and said he understood from his friends that his name was mentioned in confidential documents and has immediately taken steps to increase his and his children's safety.

The witness was asked by the judge if there is any reason to believe that any SPS member is involved in handing over documents to OVL- KLA, but he has denied it.

At the time of document flow Miro Jukiq has been a witness security worker in the SPS, and during his testimony he has said he has contacted about 30 witnesses.

According to him, the witnesses he talked to were afraid to publish the documents.

Croatian Miro Yukiq is the third witness to the Specialised Prosecutor's Office(ZPS) in the trial of former heads of the KLA War Veterans Organisation.

Before him, in judgment against former OVL leaders- The KLA has witnessed the co-ordinator of investigations in the SPS and a former Kosovo journalist.

Former heads of the KLA War Veterans' Organisation, Haradinaj's Gucati, are charged with criminal acts against justice administration, namely obstructing official persons in carrying out official duties, fearing witnesses, revenge and violating the secret of the procedure.

In the organization they were running, there were several packages allegedly containing documents derived from the Special Prosecutor's Office. All of this they had made public through media conferences and other public presentations.
