Green for Washington's deal: Biden administration has no Presidential Envoy for Kosovo, Serbia

Former US Special Envoy for the Kosovo-Serbia Dialogue Richard Green has talked about his commitment to the task during Trump Administration. He said during this experience, someone was trying to make fun of him by labeling him the” Trump's son in Europe or mini-Trump”, Klankosova accompanying.tv. [...]
He said during an interview with Cash Corner, someone was trying to make fun of him by calling him ”I follow Clancosova.
However, he says such an approach turned against them, since they were Kosovo leaders as he says they wanted the involvement of the United States of America on the issue of dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia.
And then they came to me and they said: Could you get to Trump? Can you go to the president of the United States?. I have been presented with problems, and so has the issue with Kosovo and Serbia”.
The leaders came literally and said: “We would like to make some progress here and no one is paying attention to”. I invited them to Berlin”, he said.
With regard to the Grandell meeting, he claims to have done the right thing.
I felt it was right because I could see that they were hungry for some economic deals and an attention to political issues. At first, I met him separately, then together, and then I went. Of course, President Trump allowed me to do this and said he liked my initiative and thought it was worth”.
Richard Granell even says that during his commitment as a special emissar, Kosovo and Serbia established four different economic agreements, which he already criticises the Biden Administration, little is paying attention to.
If you remember the 1999 NATO bombing in Belgrade, 20 years had passed. I think it was time to get past some of these issues. I managed to create four different economic agreements between them. It's really hard for me to see how the Benden team has completely failed the Balkans”.
You mean, they stopped the progress you made between these two nations?
I don't even think they're paying attention. I don't even think they noticed. I'll give you an example. An issue we could create in the September 2020 agreement and it was really a historic agreement. We had leaders enter the Oval Office and sign with President”.
He explains and exactly what happened within the Oval Office in Washington between the Serbian and Kosovo parties under American President Donald Trump and his team.
They came to America and signed in the Oval Office. One of the points, there were too many subpoints, I don't even remember how much. One of the points was a year-long freeze on each side to attack the other for what we call recognition and recognition campaigns. Kosovo would require recognition as an independent state by all types of entities worldwide and states”.
At the same time, Serbia was trying to have subjects and states recognise Kosovo. It was this fight for legitimacy. We were able to create them and neither side wanted to do that, but it was a credit to President Trump that we could get them for a year to freeze that non-recognition and recognition campaign”.
Did it last?
The” absolutely lasted for that one year. Then, at the end of the year, September 2021, both sides are now seeking recognition and recognition campaigns because their one - year freeze was over. Now, Beden's team could easily have seen that economic deal and said: “What should be renegotiated or negotiated, or kept? What must we do to continue improving or to continue growing?”
The former US special envoy even appears harsh with Joe Biden's administration about the Kosovo issue.
No one looked at it. Nobody brought it. I can tell you from the conversation with both sides that no one from the Biden team ever approached them to extend the recognition or non-recognition campaigns”.
In his view, at least there is a moment when US President Joe Biden's team accepted information about his achievements and commitment as special appointed to the Kosovo-Serbia issue.
When the Biden team first came in, I offered a briefing on progress. I'll give them some credit where they talked about it. Now they call it Washington's deal. They do not call it the Trump Economic Normalisation Agreement. It's good, like they want your name. The important part is that these policies be brought before”.
”They kept it as a political issue, which means that ambassadors who are in those countries should talk about it as positive and say that's what we want you to do to continue implementing it”.
He says it is disturbing that there are still no new names, as Donald Trump had done on the issue of Kosovo-Serbia dialogue.
There's no muscle behind it”.
There is no White House, there is no presidential envoy. Our Secretary of State doesn't even think about it, he doesn't talk about it”.
I think Balkan people see this. I think they know that's not fair that we've made so much progress. I'll tell you I'm not stopping. I'm doing what I can from abroad to promote implementation of this agreement. I talk to leaders in the region constantly and they are hungry for US leadership”.
I believe all these economic agreements are good and should be implemented. I'll tell you one that we've negotiated that has not yet been implemented. We have negotiated with both sides and with NATO KFOR to have a direct flight between Pristina and Belgrade”.
There's no flight right now. We negotiated and had an airline that was willing to do it, and then Coddy-19 followed. It wasn't implemented, but this is one of those things that the State Department, the White House, NSC should push forward and they can get loans. Nobody's asking them to give Trump full credit for this. But we push the ball into the field. They have to take it and continue”.
