Prime Minister Albin Kurti said they will be further engaged in awareness of the prevention of this disease, as well as in establishing medical capacities.
We put a very long pink ribbon in the government building today, since it's become a symbol of the fight against breast cancer. October was declared against fighting breast cancer for its prevention. A lot of women and girls were hit by this disease that easily gets fatal, so we worked on awareness. Let me express my gratitude for all the women and girls who faced this disease and managed to survive. With the reforms we will undertake in health, we will commit to preventing this disease and building medical capacities. We institutional leaders couldn't get out without these initiatives from civil society, we wouldn't even have those results. Our battle will go on”.
Calling for mammographic checks, former President Atifete Jahjaga said there is no lack of equipment in Kosovo, and medical staff is also professional.
With this symbolic action, we hope to support all who face this disease, we urge them to do regular checks. A few years ago, it's been harder, but now the QKUK is all the latest technology equipment, and so is the staff. A scan means saving your life”.
The founder of the Kosovar Centre for Gulf Cancer, Nafije Latifi, said that even after completing activities for this month's footnote, initiatives for awareness of citizens for breast cancer would continue.
So today the event for this month's footnote ends, but the war continues. I thank the Jahjaga Institutes and Foundation. Our centre remains to inform women as much as possible, while institutions remain realising the best conditions. I can tell you that there's a huge deal of work done by the media, which conveys our message. I'm asking all women to do checks on”.
After that, the three participants have continued their discussion at a café near the government's facility. / EO
