The foundation court facility in Pec is inscribed “This court is an enemy of women”

Such condemnation of a bully prompted numerous reactions. Justice Minister Albulen Hadziu reacted to this.

The inscription “here is placed on the girls and women being violated for S>x1>, “This court is an enemy of women!”

These inscriptions were put in by Kolestik for Religious Thinking and Action, which they say is the enemy of girls and women in Kosovo.

The court in Pec today has decided to sentence a person to eight months and eight days in prison for gang rape of a 15-year-old girl. The sentence that the criminal suffered in custody years ago.

This decision, which comes after 10 years from crime, cannot be read apart from how another act of institutionalized violence against girls and women, which starts from the family cell, to take the harshest form in the highest state institutions. As the state of Kosovo continues to behave and act against all laws it has enacted itself, “justice” is working against women and in favour of violence and dominance, Amnisting criminal men. Although the Penal Code rules that sexual rape is punishable by 5 to 20 years in prison, the Constitutional Court in Pec abuses its discretion at the expense of girls and women. This partneristic approach, where rapists are created and maintained, is making the body of girls and women easier and more vulnerable and turning men into criminals - rapers of girls and women.

Giving us this unlegging sentence while setting the criminal free puts all girls and women in a state of uncertainty. However, this decision except that it shocks and scares us, is giving us signals that we need to be organized to gain our security and live without fear and freedom from multiple institutional violence.

As long as the State is against us and violence, we will also resist it and any institution that feeds on oppression and that eventually leads to rape and murder of girls and women.
