When Final Results of Local Elections Will Be Stated

According to Valmir Elez of the CEC, during this period this institution has accepted about 5 thousand and 700 alleged ballot packages, and after the assessment within these packages, 10,000 and 934 individualised envelopes with ballot papers have been listed.
“During their assessment, 9 thousand and 610 individualised envelopes with ballot papers have been approved, while 1,000 and 324 have been refused because they are not in line with legal criteria. More than half of them have been rejected after being sent by persons who have not applied for voter registration outside Kosovo (614) or sent by persons who have failed to register as voters (,200). There are even times when the ballot package was sent more than once by the same person (168)”, Elez said.
According to him, the counting of votes outside Kosovo will be completed today during the day. While, bail vote count and persons with special needs will start tomorrow
Asked that when the CEC will announce the final election results for mayors, Elez has hinted that this will take place within two or three days.
According to him, the CEC will announce final election results for mayors after the conditional vote and those of persons with special needs are counted Monday, as well as after we receive confirmations from PZAP and the Supreme Court.
” The CEC will announce the final outcome of the election for mayors, after counting conditional votes and votes of persons with special needs. Which we plan to do during the next day, as well as to receive confirmations from PZAP and the Supreme Court... as it belongs to the out-of-country voting in the second round after the mayor's election is worth the same voting list, so all of those citizens who have managed to register successfully as voters outside Kosovo and that the municipalities have so voted will be in the race in the second round of election for mayors of municipalities will be able again to vote through post by selecting one of the candidates who is in the race for mayor of that municipality. The voting process will begin on 29 October and will be completed on 12 November”, he has said.
At the same time Elez said the campaign will begin on November 8th and end on November 12th, where the total campaign will last 5 days.
In 2017, It has taken the CEC nine days to announce the final results of the first round of Communist mayors' elections and three more days to certified them.
