Billions of users had problems accessing Facebook and applications owned by this company, hatsApp, Messenger and Instagram.
Facebook said on October 4th that “online services are returning”, but it may take a time to open them completely. The US-based company apologised to users for the problems.
This is the longest break ever, according to the website monitoring group, Doctor.
The break began after Monday (October 4th) morning. Internal systems used by Facebook employees also fell off the system, complicating the problem.
“Problems that cut this communication were caused in routines coordinating network traffic among our databases”, Facebook said.
Nearly 3 billion people use Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and Hutsapp to communicate and advertise, and in some cases, they enter many other websites.
The break-up highlighted how much the world is based on Facebook and its technology.
