EU simulation for decade: Solving Kosovo-Serbia, Macedonia-Bulgariai problems

Slovenia's prime minister, who currently heads the presidency of the European Union, Janez Jansha, has stressed the resolution of open issues between Kosovo and Serbia, as well as between North Macedonia and Bulgaria, as events amid processes that he said must go parallel during the decade. At a conference [...]
At a joint conference with European Council President Charles Michel, as well as European Commission President Ursula von der Leenen, Jansha said these have been the incentives that have been mentioned.
After the debate, one thing is clear: if we want this European perspective to materialise and if we want to be vulnerable to citizens and stimulating as reform, three processes over the next decade must go hand in hand with each other. First, European institutions must implement some processes to be effective - if enlargement occurs - some open issues must be resolved, for example. Between Serbia and Kosovo and northern Macedonia and Bulgaria, but the negotiation process should continue”, Jansha said.
He added that if there is a negotiation process, “this becomes easier than if we have mutually resolved issues”, citing the issue of “targa or various points of agreements”. Jansha said the enlargement period should be above that.
If we don't do this, each other will be temporary. After all, the European Union has pledged this in 2003 and that was then clear. There is no other good perspective for the region. If that is ensured, then it is good; if not, then tragic events from history can be repeated and I don't think anyone wants to see such a thing”, Jansha said.
The Slovenian prime minister acknowledged that the country he is leading wanted to introduce a date for the membership of Western Balkan countries in the European Union, but that was not approved.
“It is no secret that during the preparation of the Brdo declaration, Slovenia wanted to stress a timetable for enlargement. This schedule is not part of the statement, but was part of a long discussion of”, he said.
