Elezi (KQZ): Vote count expected to end this week

Elez these comments made at a media conference by the Counting and Renumbering Centre.

“The CEC has received about 5,000 and 700 alleged ballot packages. They're being verified. After these procedures are completed, then the counting of conditional votes will begin, the votes of persons with special needs and those coming in by mail, which will take place during the next few days. We plan to complete this process this week”, Elez said before the media.

The CEC will decide the period of campaigning for runoff at one of its next meetings.

Under the law, the second round of local elections must be held four weeks after the first round, the CEC is focused on the conclusion of all procedures related to the mayoral elections in order to reach legal terms.

He said the announcement of results for the first round takes place after the outcome of all votes in the CEC.

Until the announcement comes after all procedures are completed in the QNR, after counting conditional votes, those in the mail and persons with special needs. So after the end of this process, the CEC can first announce and then Certificate elections”

In 2017, as Elez said, from election day to certificate in the CEC local elections has taken 12 days.
