A severe earthquake rocked Friday morning, the village of Topojan Bulqiza, where it was also the focus of the 4.5-degree Magnitude earthquake.
The inhabitants left their homes in fear as they noticed cracks in walls and columns.
At least 16 houses have been damaged, while officials have been on the ground for verifying the situation after an extraordinary meeting of the Emergency Staff, called by the Prefect.
I'm out of the house. I'm so wasted. The house column and part of the wall have been damaged. If this column collapses, it completely collapses. I'm looking for help from the state. When the earthquake struck, I took my mother and my wife out. Thank God I didn't have the kids inside. They were in school. So far no one has come to verify the damage”, one resident said.
By noon, another 6 quakes were recorded by the Institute of Genocensities, all with a 12km epidex from Bulqiza.
Sismologist Edmond Dashi told RTV ORA, that such earthquakes cause damage.
The situation in the northeast is active in seismic terms, we have an activity that started around 5:00 yesterday and it's been through this morning, with an earthquake of 08:10 local time. So far, about nine earthquakes have occurred. ”
