It is accused of attempted serious murder that took place on January 22, 2020, in the village of Loviq Prekriski near Ozal.
Ferko first bought antifreeze at the gasoline station, knowing that it contained toxic elliclenes and put it in a bottle of mineral water containing juice and gave the juice to Matijaschi to drink.
According to the indictment, the injured person drank without doubt that the drink contained a toxic substance, and at night he became ill and his life was saved only by treatment in time and intensive care.
In his testimony, Matijacic described the meeting and drinking in Loviq Prekriski and said Ferko told him to drink everything because “that drink relaxes muscles”. He said he had problems with memory and sleep since that event, and that he also had nightmares.
Legal chemist Marina Nestic and forensic expert Vedrana Petrovechki confirmed claims in the indictment, that the metabolisms confirm the probability of etile's presence and that the patient would surely die without intensive treatment.
The cause of such a condition was not known for three days, Petrovečki said, and then the presence of eglicol etile degradation products was determined in the blood sample.
The next session is scheduled for 23 November, broadcast Croatian media.
