This is crazy”: Citizens couldn't find stickers at the Zvecan Record Center

Citizens in northern Kosovo, inhabited by Serb majority populations, are confused on Tuesday, October 5th, because they have not been able to equip themselves with stickers at the North Mitrovica census centre to stick them over state symbols to their vehicle plates registered in Serbia. [...]

At the Zvecan Automotive Record Center during Tuesday afternoon, only 100 boxes of sticky paper have been reached. Each box contains four sticky cards.

Life, staff chief and senior political adviser to Kosovo Minister of Internal Affairs Jhelal Svecla has told Radio Europe free of charge that after 8 October, all those who do not have state symbols on Serbian license plates will be punished in accordance with the law.

The wire has explained that sticky cards can be withdrawn to 13 border crossings or to vehicle registration centres.

The official implementation of the license agreement, signed on September 30th in Brussels, has started on October 2nd, while the second point of the agreement, which refers to sticky letters on Kosovo and Serbia's symbols at the license plate, started on Monday, October 4th.

This means that all city license vehicles in Serbia and cities in Kosovo, issued by Serbia's Interior Ministry, which Kosovo considers illegal, will be attached to the license plates to enable them to move on Kosovo's territory.

The same is true for all license vehicles RKS) (Kosovo Republic) to be able to move through Serbia.

Although this process is taking place at border crossings without major problems, citizens in northern Mitrovica, where most of their vehicle plates have signs KM) (Mitrovica), which Serbia's Interior Ministry releases to citizens in northern Kosovo and which Kosovo authorities consider illegal, on Tuesday have failed to equip themselves with sticky letters, which cover state symbols on the license plates.

The North Mitrovica municipality, where the Automotive Record Centre is located, is closed to work with the parties. As municipal authorities have announced, closure has been made due to the prevention of corruption spreading.

Meanwhile, North Mitrovica municipality Deputy Chairman Adrijana Hodzic confirmed to Radio Free Europe that citizens will be able on Monday, October 11th to receive infectious letters from Kosovo's Ministry of Internal Affairs officials, whose premises are within the North Mitrovica Community.

Nenad, a resident of northern Mitrovica, says he has come to Zvecan in hopes he may be equipped with sticky letters, considering that the Centre for Automotive Recording in North Mitrovica is not working.

Nobody knows what's going on here anymore. This is really crazy. This is total madness”, says Nenad, whose vehicle has license plates KM.

They told us we needed sticky cards for plates. KM. They told us all this, but there is none. The North Mitrovica municipality does not work because of the coronary, but people do not know what to do. As the government is, so are the license plates. One more. It all falls on the people's backs instead of getting better and normal. Now, that's nothing, let's put up the sticky cards, cover the plates. This doesn't really happen anywhere. It's a shame. There'll probably be a big mess if there's no sticky papers. Where they'll get the sticky 90,000 vehicles”, Nenad says.

He has the dilemma that he could be equipped with sticky paper in Zvecan, as resident of the Northern Mitrovica municipality.

I'm from Mitrovica. Because the municipality there doesn't work, I've come to ask whether and whether the Zvecan municipality is competent to supply sticky paper to the residents of Mitrovica. This is another municipality because nobody knows anything. The people don't know and are completely confused”, Nenad said of Radio Free Europe.
