Serbs have opposed the police operation, attacking officers with stones and burning cars, which reportedly have been with RKS license plates.
Kosovo police through a media report had announced that the anti-muggling operation is being carried out in four locations, including four Kosovo regions such as Pristina, Peja, Mitrovica South and Northern Mitrovica, where the smuggling network was hit.
Kosovo's “Police, in the continuation of the strategic targets for preventing criminal acts, namely the uncompetitive struggle against smuggling of goods, today in the early morning hours has begun implementing a police operation that included several different locations, including four Kosovo regions such as Pristina, Peja, Mitrovica Jugu and Mitrovica North”, the report said.
The announcement made to the media says that “all police actions are being carried out in co-ordination with competent prosecutors and courts, with the order of which checks and raids are under way at various locations such as residential homes, business establishments, goods warehouses etc.”.
