Brnabyq says Vuciqi killing was planned

Serbia's prime minister, Ana Brnabiq, said there has been a plan for killing the president of this state, Aleksandar Vuciq. As Brbanic said, the murder was scheduled to take place during the discovery of Stefan Nemanja's monument, which took place on January 27th this year in Belgrade. The vote is long planned and in detail. parallel structures in the Interior Ministry (MPB) have been formed and campaigns have been made in the media of tycoons, which have also been broadcast to the media in the region for dehumanisation of Vuciqi, to turn him and his family into a criminal group”, Brnabiq told Pink television on 24 October.

Brnabic said the case is being taken over by competent services, and the responsibilities will not be able to escape justice without taking into account the “name and surname, party function and belonging”.

The Serbian prime minister stated that the charges of spying on Vuciki at the “Yovanjica” are “the coup target”.

The prosecution for Organised Crime launched investigations in January due to unauthorised wiretapping of Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq.

As Vuciqi himself has said, he is suspected to have been bugged by local services.

The MPB has power over these services. This minister was headed by Nebojsa Stefanovic between 2014 and 2020, when he was appointed Minister of Defence. He holds that position today.

Stefanovic has repeatedly declared that he has never participated in a “activity that would endanger President Vuciq or his family members”.

Serbia's former state secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Diana Herkalovic, was also mentioned as being linked to the president's wiretapping relationship. She was arrested on October 15th.

The media reported in January that Hrkalovovic was one of the people questioned about Vuciqi's surveillance relationship. The Interior Ministry and the Prosecutor's Office have neither denied nor confirmed this claim, while Hrkalovovic has also not been publicly declared on the issue.

The offer known as “Jovanjica” was made public in November 2019, when police found 1.6 tonnes of marijuana at a food organic products farm owned by Pregrad Koluvija.

One of the two charges in the case, which is still in the trial phase, included eight people, including police members, the Security Information Agency and the Military Intelligence Agency, who are accused of protecting the owner of this agricultural property.

The defendant in this case, Pregrad Koluvija, is under house arrest after the Appeals Court lifted the detention measure, which was from 2019 and on October 1st he gave an interview his lawyer, who simultaneously is a member of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party, Vladimir Djukanovic.

This case has also received attention due to opposition and media claims that top state officials are linked to the wiretapping tie, but these claims have been rejected by authorities. / REL
