Perhaps it is designed to take into account underground facilities for the development of nuclear weapons of Iran or North Korea, it transmits Telegragraphy.
While testing from Aglin Air Base in Florida, the F-15 fighter jet dropped the new bomb. The 5K Penetrator GBU-72, is designed to penetrate deep into underground bunkers and other objects that have been reinforced by steel and concrete from 12,000 feet high, penetrate the ground and then explode.
“The bomb's launch of 2 tonnes marked the end of a series of tests planned by the 780 Air Force unit”, the air force's statement said after the last test.
The 2,300 - pound [2,300 kg] range looked logistically and flexiblely and can be assembled on the conventional strategic bomber, such as B-52, B-2 Spir and B-21 Raider, but also on the F-15 used during the trial.
