American expert for the Balkans, Alon Ben Meir, has commented on the European Commission's recent Progress Report on Kosovo, stressing the impasses in dialogue with Serbia.
He has said the findings stressing that Kosovo and Serbia are delaying the normalisation of the reports between them.
Ben Meir has said he has expected Kurti showing he is willing to follow the advice of the EU and US dialogue, and to hold Serbia responsible for any lack of progress.
On the other hand, he adds that the EU and the US should condemn Serbian provocations and send a message to Vuciq that Kosovo's independence is closed and will never undergo negotiations.
The full delivery of Alon Ben Meir:
According to the newly published European Commission report, Kosovo and Serbia did not mark progress in their dialogue, and delays in achieving normalisation on both sides are disturbing. Since the US and the EU strongly support dialogue between the two countries, I expected Kurti to show he is more than willing to follow their advice and place Serbia responsible for any lack of progress. Meanwhile, the EU and the US must condemn Serbian provocation and must send a clear message to President Vuciq that Kosovo's independence will never be subject to negotiations.
