Pristina municipality deputy head Muheddin Nushi, in a proposal for Online Economics, has indicated that late September over 34,000 people affected by Covid-19 have applied for subsidies from the municipality.
Out of these 28 thousand citizen applications, all this has cost the municipality 1.4m euros.
So far the total number of applications for subsidies to persons who were with Covid-19 is over 34 thousand citizens who have applied. Otherwise, close to 28,000 citizens are subsidised and their total value amounts to nearly 1.4m euros, and this is an extraordinary value that we are trying at least to cover some of the costs that citizens are subjected to during the quarantine phase”.
He said only those citizens on the IKSHPK list and who are equipped with online application are entitled to apply.
We subsidize those citizens who figure out the list that we accept every day from IKSCS, so I invite all citizens to apply in online form because only as such are they accepted and receive these” subsidies, Nushi said.
He said aid from the municipality has also received needy families, where nearly 30,000 food packages have been distributed in the March-September period of this year alone.
There's some 15 thousand families on our list that accept social packages, and we have to check that we've already distributed about 30,000 food packages during the March-September period of this year. Out of these packages, about 10,000 packages are worth by the municipality itself, while the rest is due to various donors”.
And our municipality also distributes many days of two popular cuisines that we've witnessed, and therefore in terms of the social welfare of our citizens we're oriented to help as much as possible, hoping that any future government that will come to focus on social assistance families”, he stressed.
Nushi, among other things, said they are willing to manage the situation with Ovid 19 even if the number of cases increases.
We've been willing to provide help with those capacities through the centers of our family medicine, and also the possibility of sheltering or placing citizens in the cottages that we have in Germi, and we practically stand behind our positions. I believe we've already gone through that main third wave peak, and seeing that even the vaccine is going well”.
