Xhavit Haliti's call: If the electorate has loved Thaci and Wessel, they should engage twice as often in elections

In the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), mobilization has already begun for new elections expected to be held soon. Frequent meetings of the Party's Headship of the Steering Council are under way, and no accessions are missing. Even the candidate for prime minister from this party, Enver Hoxhaj has started mobising meetings and media conferences.

Regarding expectations regarding early elections, the party has also spoken. PDK Headship member Xhavit Haliti has told Express that they are ready for elections.

The “of course that any party that is in battle in politics must be ready. Now let's see if citizens are ready for elections even if citizens have still given the verdict on their vote to create a government for four years. We have to seize the possibility that as much as we can carry out a campaign and get to the election”, Haliti said, adding that they will try hard to win this election.

Haliti also spoke of placing Enver Hoxhaj as candidate PDK for prime minister.

We have voted and nominated as Headship and Steering Council. We can discuss whether he can replace the former mayors, but I don't believe that based on his experience, the team he has in support of campaigning, but I believe we'll try and compensate their absence”, he has said further.

PDK's Headship member told Express that the electorate of this party should vote twice as many in the elections expected to be held soon, in honour of former leaders Hashim Thaci and Kadri Veselini.

“I believe if the electorate is The PDK has wanted and respected Thaci and Wessel, then twice as much to commit to winning The PDK) and to compensate their lack of”, he has declared.

He announced that in these elections it would be part of the PDK's election list, for deputy.

The Constitutional Court, with its decision, declared the Kosovo government's vote led by Avdullah Hoti invalid.

Similarly, the Court in its ruling says the new elections should be held no later than 40 days from the day of their proclamation. The Constitutional Court ruled after the complaint the Vetevendosje movement made, seeking interpretation of the vote of an MP from the minority ranks, who was sentenced to the court's firm decision. MP Etem Arifi's vote was the 61st vote that enabled Avdullah Hoti to be elected prime minister of Kosovo.

Thus, these days are also expected to be published by the complete Constitutional Court and the proclamation of new elections in the country.
