Case “Venterians”, Court frees all indictees from indictment

All accused in the “Venters” case have been released from the indictment in the court process that has been held today. About two years since the first trial session, judgment has been concluded today in the case known as the “False Vjetania”. The accused were: Agim Ceku, Nuredin Lushtaku, Sadik Halitaj, Shumbin Demalijaj, Qele Gashi, Shukri Buja, Ahmet Daku, Rrustem Berisha, Faik Fazliu, Smajl Elezaj, Fadil Shudreaj and Xhavit Jashar, who are tasked with the criminal work “the abuse of the official position or authority”.
All of these were members of the Government Commission for the recognition and Verification of the Status of the Nation's Witness, Invaledit, Veterani, Partitarian and Kosovo Liberation Army Intervention.
According to the Special Prosecutor, about 19 thousand false <x0vetana”, persons who failed to meet the legal criteria had been placed on veterans' lists and benefited from pensions from the state.
