Vaccinator distribution, O head BSH: The world is on the verge of catastrophic moral failure

World Health Organization Director General early this week, Monday, said the world is on the verge of a failure, a catastrophic moral failure, as far as the issue of distributing anti vaccines is concerned. - CO VID. The head of the OBS, Tedros Adhanom Ghebrasesus, said vaccines should be equally shared worldwide, for all who need and are affected by COVID-19.
According to him, there should be no distinctions and differentials such as it is happening, where doses are not being distributed equally for the poorest countries.
Tedros Adhanom Ghebreesesus said prospects for fair distribution are in “serious risk” just like the vaccine sharing scheme COVAX intended to begin distributing vaccines next month.
He noted 44 bilateral agreements signed last year, and at least 12 have already been signed this year, Reuters reports.
“This could delay COVAX remittances and create exactly the scenario that COVAX was created to avoid, with collections, a chaotic market, an uncoordinated response and continuing social and economic divisions”, he said.
Such an approach left the world poorer and more vulnerable to danger, he said at the opening of the Executive Board's annual meeting in virtual format.
“After all, these actions will only prolong pandemic”.
The global fragility for vaccine has intensified as more infectious versions of the virus circulate.
Tedros cited as an example of inequality that more than 39 million doses of vaccines have been administered in 49 countries with higher incomes, while only 25 doses were given in a poor country.
