On the same date, in 1921, Turkey was declared an independent state, after the remaining history of the Ottoman Empire.
The 1921 Constitution (Canunu) was Turkey's fundamental law for a short period of 1921-1924.
“Kanunu” was a simple document consisting of only 23 short articles.
In October 1923, the Constitution was added to declare Turkey is a republic.
In April 1922, the Constitution was replaced with a completely new document, the 1924 Constitution.
