Backers of the outgoing United States, Donald Trump, entered the U.S. Congress building on Wednesday, where the electoral vote certificate process is under way from the November 3rd, 2020 elections.
TV footage of some American broadcasters shows protesters inside and outside the Congress building as well as the arrival of additional police forces.
Congress gathered today to confirm the victory of elected President Joe Biden.
The process, which is usually routine and ceremonial, seems to be going slowly, as some republics of the current president, Trump, have decided to challenge confirmation, calling in groundless claims of fraud in the election.
The first objections were submitted to the results of the Arizona state, where Biden has been declared a winner.
Opposition has led to two hours of debate in the House of Representatives and the Senate.
Trump has pledged that “will never accept loss” and has called on supporters to gather in Washington.
“We will never surrender”, Trump said at the noon rally. /rel
