The January 6th violence as the Pence was running the Congress hearing for the Certificate of Joe Biden's victory.
A senior administration official told the media that Trump and Pence held a “good talks”. The official hinted that the Pence did not intend to submit to the Democrats' request to activate the Constitutional Amendment 25, which would declare Trump incapable of carrying out presidential duties. Trump and Pence “reiterated that those who broke the law and attacked Congress last week do not represent the first American movement, supported by 75 million Americans”, the official said.
The “duo pledged to continue work on behalf of the country, for the remainder of the” mandate, the official added. Pence is reportedly angry with Trump, who has urged supporters to march toward Congress with groundless claims of election fraud.
The president has also openly criticised the Pence, saying he did not have the courage to overturn the election outcome. Trump, which is blocked by Twitter and other social media, has been silent about the violence in the Senate.
The Democrats of the House of Representatives have presented a resolution on the judgment of Trump if Pence and the cabinet do not remove it or push him to resign. /Tch
