Sweden to destroy 1.3 million chickens, due to bird flu

Sweden will destroy 1.3 million chickens after bird flu appeared on a farm in the country's southeast, the Agriculture Ministry announced today.

A type of H5N5 bird group was discovered at the largest egg producer, near the town of Monstera, on January 18th, Reuters reports.

As a measure, the state has taken over the annihilation of this group of birds.
