We're going to experience at least ten more weeks of lack of vaccines against the Coronobrus. Trust in this crisis can only be achieved if federal and state governments co-operate”, Minister Spahn wrote on social networks.
His statement comes at the time of an ongoing dispute between the European Union and the company “AstraZeneca” over the delay in the distribution of vaccines, CNN writes, Report Express broadcast.
Spahn has proposed that a summit be held for vaccines with regional governments and Germany's central government to discuss how to keep going and to make sure Europe gets the share of the doses it owes.
He also proposed that representatives of the pharmaceutical and vaccine industry in Germany be invited to the summit to show how complicated the production process is.
The production of vaccines cannot be fixed for four weeks. If it can be done in a few months, it's too fast. Simply because the quality should be very good to protect citizens”, the German minister said.
By contrast, according to the latest data from the Institute for Infectious Diseases, Germany on Thursday recorded 17.553 new cases of Coronavirus and 941 victims for 24 hours.
