That is because the Government of Kosovo from the beginning of the pandemic had decided not to allow weddings, due to the gathering of people and the risk of spreading the virus. But these halls are exploiting lawmakers themselves to hold election campaign gatherings.
They locked them up and didn't let them work to preserve the public health of the citizens. Thus, about 200 wedding halls in Kosovo have not worked since the country's first coronavirus cases were confirmed.
But the halls that closed their doors opened up again, but this time for party purposes.
Political parties in Kosovo have launched the election campaign for elections to be held on February 14th. And almost all of them are being held in wedding halls with their likings.
And they are not pleased with the representatives of the wedding hall.
Driton Hoti, representative of this community and owner of a wedding restaurant, which had employees of about 60 workers, has claimed that what politicians are doing is not right at all.
“We're standing completely closed on March 13th, we haven't been allowed to work for a minute. On March 8 we held the last party. We were not allowed to work, maintain public health, agree, and maintain public health, but what if those who did the Law were breaking it themselves. It's not the end of the world that we're working on, but it has to be politicians being honest. These guys got, they got nothing red, they're all the same, no matter”, declared Hoti.
Hoti has also talked about the owners of wedding halls, which are opening the doors to its premises to allow political parties to hold electoral gatherings.
Everybody decides for themselves, we can't sanction anyone, I if I have a request I didn't open”, he said.
Hoti said that in co-ordination with the Gastronoms' Association and Oden Hoteliere, they will hand over indictments to the Court for human rights violations.
“How many people are out of work due to closure and because of maintaining public health. But when it comes to politicians, they neither retain public health nor respect the Law they have voted for” itself. If we have any legal space, in co-ordination with gastronomers and Oda Hoteliere, we will hand over charges to the Court for human rights violations”, Hoti has declared.
Meanwhile, political party representatives have distributed pictures of their favourite events through their social networks, which are organizing in wedding halls.
