Shocking study: Equal twins are not identical

Similar twins or monosygotics come from a single Fertilized egg that splits into two. They are important research subjects because they are thought to have minimal genetic differences. This means that when physical or bijvoral differences arise, environmental factors are supposed to be the cause.
But the new research, published Thursday in Nature Genetics magazine, suggests that the role of genetic factors in shaping these differences has been underestimated.
Cary Stefansson, coauthor of research, said identical twins were traditionally used to help researchers prove the impact of genetics vs environmentally on tests for disease and other conditions, reports Guardian, Pryscopy.
So if you take the grown separate twins and one of them develop autism, classical interpretation has been that this has been influenced by the environment. ”
But this is a very dangerous conclusion,” he said, adding that the condition may be early made in genetic mutations in one twin but not in the other.
Mutation means alternative to DNA sequence a little change that is not good or bad but that can have physical effects.
This research is widely praised by the scientific world. /Periscope
