The shocking scandal leading to the resignation of the Netherlands government: Here's what you need to know.

The Dutch government has resigned after scandal with social schemes for children. Many are seeing such a resignation as a positive act, but in fact, the scandal is extremely shocking. Children's parents were labeled fraud after minor errors in forms as missing signatures and were thus forced to reverse the tens of thousands of euros given by the government.
They were “launched by the system, as one minister said, reports the BBC, translates Periscopi.
Families were left in devastating condition, from the state machine that became the people's <x0 enemy”.
The relations got depressed under pressure, the homes were lost, the mothers spoke in tears about the psychological and financial anxiety they suffered after being mocked by tax officials.
Last year the tax office had acknowledged that 11,000 people were treated with suspicion added only because of dual citizenship. This admission has reinforced widespread conviction among the ethnic minorities in the Netherlands for discrimination against them, and that this discrimination was institutionalised and enabled by people in power.
But even though the resignation by the government is seen as responsible, it can in fact be interpreted as a defence act to avoid the possibility of losing no confidence by MPs next week.
This cruel scandal had begun in 2012, and the number of parents involved may be about 26 thousand. Some of them have openly called on the government to resign, saying they had lost confidence in the government cabinet's ability to clean up the system.
A mother was asked to pay the authorities 48 thousand euros. She had tried to prove to them that mistakes had been made, but officials had taken only the social child care schemes, but other benefits that were due them in law.
She also lost her job and could not find another one because she was viewed as a fraud.
With the government's resignation, all of these tens of thousands of parents are expected to receive compensation, but this is obviously not enough. /Periscope
