With electricity reductions, this triple faces every winter, but this time, the situation is heavy. In each village, calm has been replaced by the sound of generators, which from the heavy burning of derivatives to produce electricity are also polluting the air.
The “Rryma actually left us somewhere before the new year. Almost 40 days now it's getting us out of power. The challenges are many. There is no improvement in the situation. It's always promises, like every year. This year, however, has been far from over, and this has reached its peak this year. Seeing that the situation is not improving with electricity supplies, we have the energy costs of power generators”, said Ylber Rudi, owner of a family business in the village of Boga, Koha reported.
Rugovas complain that each year, especially during the winter, the same thing is being repeated with a lack of electricity in the 14 villages of this three villages, which are running one day or two, and then a few weeks and months they don't.
Selim Dzevukaj, resident of the village of Red, shows that the current has not been available for an hour in this village a week before the new year and until January 10th.
Then, as he says, KEDS has done some repairs on several pillars, but the network has fallen again.
This is what's going on in Rugova every year is a disaster. There is no improvement in the situation, but each year gets worse. Rugova for the past 20 years has never been comfortable with electricity. Even winter has big problems”, Jevukaj said.
Rugova's train has been electrified in 1983, and since then the network has grown old and amortized so much that it no longer copes with wind, snow, or rain.
Some timely intervention by KED has been made in the outdated infrastructure of this electrical network, but according to residents, they have been largely emergency cases. Such intervention has also been made Wednesday by KED teams. For the ongoing problems of the Romanians with lack of electricity, KOHA has also addressed KED, but has not received answers.
These urgent interventions are insufficient to improve the situation this three-way is facing. We don't understand KEDs why they don't intervene in summer, clean up the power lines and change the old pillars that are rotten and kept from the power cables. So, KEDs cares only when there are urgent cases, but not for the network to improve and sanction damage during the summer season and winter we have electricity, but for years, during the winter season”, said Agron Nikci, chairman of the Territorial Community “Rugova I”, covering the seven lower villages of Rugova.
This situation, according to him, cannot continue. He says KED should make a strategic plan for Rugova's train. On the contrary, as it has warned, family businesses and tourism development in Rugova are at risk.
Each winter is coming with more and more weight because of the weakened and outdated network. In countries that live and become tourism, the current needs to be stable, because it is primary for tourism development. There is no real tourism development. In Rugova, with this network we have, there is no way of developing tourism, nor were we successful. All of us will fail”, Nikci said, who is also the owner of a family business in the village of Grand Staff.
