The recently appointed president at Radio Free Europe, Ted Lipien and the directors of two US government-funded international broadcasters have been fired in late 22 January by the American Agency for Global Media (USAGM), which supervises these broadcasters.
Close officials with these changes have said that U's director's duty is being performed SAGM, Kelu Chao, has fired Radio Free Europe President Ted Lipien, along with Radio Directors Free Asia and Middle East Broadcasting Networks, a month after they have been appointed to these positions.
The changes have come a day after Chao fired the director of Voice of America and his deputy, while the leader of the broadcaster in Cuba has resigned.
The American voice and broadcaster in Cuba are U.S. federal agencies, Rel reports.
Radio Free Europe, Radio Free Asia and the Middle East Broadcasting Networks are private agencies, which are financed by American taxpayers through Congress.
Downloads have come after Michael Pack's required resignation from the position of head of U SAGM, hours after Joe Biden was sworn in as president of the United States.
Pack, elected of former US President Donald Trump, has been criticised by Democrats and Republicans for the policies and appointments he has made since it was confirmed by American lawmakers in June last year.
Pack has also been charged with attempting intervention in editorial content of services within these organisations.
It was only December of last year when Pack appointed all persons who were fired on January 21st and 22nd.
Sources within USAGM have confirmed that Chao has sent his letters to Lipien, Middle Eastern Broadcasting Director Victoria Caotos and Radio Chief Free Asia Stephen Yates.
It has not yet been disclosed whether any of the downloaded persons will contest the decision or who will replace them.
The Beden administration has named Chaon, a veteran journalist for three decades of American Voice, as acting executive chief on January 20th shortly after Pack's resignation.
