Record Production in KEK History

Kosovo Energy Corporation ( KEK sh.a.) Despite the challenges it faces as a result of old stabilisations, it has already proved to be a factor of stability in the country's energy sector. As a result, despite the situation created as the consequence of pandemic, KEK has reached the record electricity production since the beginning [...]

In this course, KEK reports that despite the high Czech challenges and the situation created as a consequence of pandemic, with the maximum commitment and dedication of all KEK workers, 2020 has successfully concluded, exceeding all expectations planned.

This year's Kosovo A thermal power plant has exceeded production planning by 11.8% or 6% better than the previous year. While Kosovo B has exceeded production planning by 106.1% or 6.4% better than the previous year. Even the coal-making division has succeeded in supplying the two thermal power plants to produce electricity for the country's citizens with this essential product.

KEK has succeeded in supplying Termocos with thermal energy that serves to warm the capital's citizens.

Remonts have also been implemented periodic remontes in generation units B-1, B-2 and A-3, A-5, affecting security in the production facilities at the highest possible level.

Displacement The exfiling KEK is at the top of the second 129-acre shift project. Since KEK has always faced problems in this area, management of the second project is considered a story of success as the shift is ending with excellent co-operation with MEA and infected residents.

The KEK community invests about 200 thousand euros per year in community. In progress, projects are being implemented to support the community in the district KEK operates, projects are mainly about parks, sports fields, street lighting, etc. Up to this year these projects have only been implemented in the Obilic Community, while this year we have also shared a project to build a park in the Great Bardh in Fushe Kosovo.

KEK has recently proved that it is a factor of stability in the energy sector, even supporting and co-operating closely with all energy sector acts (Actionary, COST, ZRRE, KDS/ KESCO for independence of the energy sector of the Republic of Kosovo.

OBJECTIVAT

KEK's objectives are among the revising of blocks which increase life expectancy for the next 20 years of production units in TC Kosova B, as well as the study of TC Kosovo A feasibility, which is expected to determine the future of this thermal power plant.

Environmental projects such as companies of particular importance to the country, in addition to the explosion of coal and electricity production as essential products for the country's citizens. Kosovo's Energy Corporation has also targeted improving environmental component, resulting in funds. The IPA's project for changing the Kosovo B thermal power plants is expected to be implemented, which has a cost of about 76m euros. which was pushed by the EU due to pandemic. With the finalisation of this project T C-B will meet EU environmental directives.

Furthermore, the shield wall is built at the village of Dutch, the security generation (green nations) building project around KEK plants, in which through a bank and greenery will become the KEK's space sharing with the city. Part of this project is the expansion of the road to the entrance of Obilic, the construction of the pedestrian and cyclist path, which will be carried out in co-operation with the Obilic municipality.

In addition to the Green Belt Project, in co-operation with the Obilic municipality, KEK also plans to realise a new park in the Kosovo field triangle Obilic Pristina, which the World Bank has also expressed interest in investment. The project amounts to around 8m euros. At this stage, together with the Obilic Community, we are making all preparations for presenting the project to the World Bank.

CHIDAT

Capital projects despite the fact that we are completing 2020 with remarkable success, it is certain that the pandemic situation has also affected the Kosovo Energy Corps, unable to implement certain capital projects, with a special emphasis on installing electrofils in TC Kosova B. Pushing the implementation of the electrofilt project has also contributed to the delay in implementing several leading projects funded by KEK itself.

The average age of KEK workers is 55, and over 1,000 workers are expected to retire in the next five years, among KEK's main challenges in the future remains the reconstruction of quartdro. In this direction, KEK has hired an international consultant that is doing a functional review, with which the cases will unearth the exact number of workers the corporation needs for a stable and secure operation.
