Albania's Prime Minister Edi Rama said the contract with Pfizer Company to secure antiConvidian vaccines is protected from the trade secret and will not become public.
The contract with Pfizer is protected worldwide by the trade secret, it doesn't become public beyond my will”, Rama said.
Rama said he wanted to publicise the contract, but that's where the trade secret clause was put. According to the head of government, no EU country has made the contract with Pfizer public.
It was my wish to make it public, there's nothing to hide, but the contracts are contracts and the trade secret clause is there. If you find an EU country or anyone else who makes it public we'll be the second to make it”, Rama said.
The head of the Albanian government said the vaccine price is fixed, but the trade secret concerns different contract modalities, such as the amounts that will be distributed, time and so forth.
“You may doubt what you want is your right, but doubts can be facilitated by seeing the practices of all and the secret covering the Pfizer contract is not about the price, the price is fixed, but it relates to the modalities of each contract, and according to the negotiations there are different modalities, for quantity, and so on. The money paid for Pfizer is not secret”, Rama said.
He added, among other things, that there is no place for doubt. The head of the government stressed that he was prepared to make the contract public in parliament, but was barred from just the trade secret.
“was filled with consistency this country and this world with all kinds of madness. Pfizer has a contract with all countries and no Pfizer contract in any country is public. I didn't know that. I said we'd go to parliament and publicize it and they said you wouldn't make it public that it's preserved by the tax secret. What's there to doubt here? Rama said.
