Ancient expert Dr. Naama Sukenick called this discovery “very exciting and important”.
The fragment was discovered during the escape at one location in Timna, about 120 miles [220 km] south of Jerusalem.
“In antiquity, purple clothing associated with nobility, with priests, and with the royal link,” said Dr. Sukenek.
