Smith has declared that the charges against Hashim Thaci and others should not be seen as the indictment against the KLA or Kosovo, but as the indictment against individuals.
He's been trying to narrow down the Special's claim that the KLA has committed crimes based on religious motives, but still citing it as a fact that some Catholic “were among the victims of crimes presented in the indictment”, Periscopi follows.
The indictment does not actually refer to Catholic Albanians or any other religious group. However, it is a fact that some Catholic Albanians along with many others were among the victims of crimes presented in the indictmentAnd therefore this is something that is reflected in the evidence presented and in the confirmation decision that analyzes those” evidence, Smith said about Time.
This claim is considered scandalous and highly tarnished for the character of the KLA's liberation war, and which politically harms the image of the state of Kosovo.
