Prosecutor seeks detention for police who mistreated 18-year-old

The Basic Prosecutor in Pristina, the General Department, on January 30th, 2021, has banned the person with the initial H.K., a police official who had mistreated a citizen during his official office in 2018. The same has been detained, after allegedly committing criminal work “Peging the test or official procedure”, from Article 386, paragraph 1 points of the Republic of Kosovo's Criminal Code.

The aforementioned person allegedly, following his release from the ban, prevented the development of evidence in the procedure, urging the injured witness to withdraw his statement given to the police and prevent investigations.

The State Prosecutor has filed a request to appoint the detention measure for the suspect to the competent court.
