The business community fears that even with the new government expected to emerge from the February 14th elections, support for the private sector and workers will not be adequate.

Although some of the political parties' promises for the February 14th elections are for billion support for businesses, employment, wage increases, and even minimum wage increases.

The executive director of the American Chamber of Economics in Kosovo, Arian Zeka, in an interview for KosovaPress, has said that after setting restrictive measures for economic activities, some of the businesses have suffered a lot and thousands of jobs have been extinguished.

Zeka has said that inadequate inaction by the last two governments has produced very high frustration.

“The expectations of business community representatives in the past from both governments, which have been in office or who have been responsible for managing the impact that the David-19 pandemic has had, have been much higher, on the other hand, due to the poor has produced very high frustration. While the new government that can come out after the February elections, naturally learn many of the mistakes and concessions that have been made by governments from March onward, since the national level of pandemic was declared, there is much to be done. The first is to take a gray analysis of the impact that the pandemic had on different sectors. Not all companies have been hit on the same scale that then the support of the state has had to be proportional and not uniform for companies of all sectors. This mirror would then have to help the new government determine the percentages of distribution of state aid to companies or hit employees. Without such an analysis I fear that once again the support of the state will not be adequate”, Zeka points out.

According to Zeka, it is paradoxical that political parties with electoral gatherings are violating laws that have voted on their own in the Assembly to be protected by the pandemic COVID-19.

“is the best evidence than dedicated political parties are for empowering rule of law and law in Kosovo, even the way they perceive themselves, considering themselves on laws they make. The primary responsibility here lies with those who are part of the government both in March and June and from the months from now, that is, those actsmen, the Hedars who have been part of the ruling coalitions that have made those decisions through which many citizens in the country have been fined, and many businesses, while those of their own, violate those decisions that they have made. This is the greatest paradox, it's not something new that we're seeing only during measures that limit cultural life, even citizens' gatherings and economic activity. It's something that we've noticed in the past, because political heedars are always seen and perceive themselves more important than the state itself, he says.

In this interview, Zeka has also talked about the billion promises of political parties during the election campaign in early parliamentary elections on February 14th.

Zeka has said that despite these promises businesses continue to be unhelpful.

The pompous pomp of electoral promises is going on during this electoral cycle, but if we look into the historical aspect of what has happened to these promises, then the likelihood that our expectations are low this time again is well justified. The parties express their promises in numeric terms or in quantum terms whether in the number of jobs they intend to create or even in the monetary investment values they aim to achieve during their term. I believe that beyond this quantum aspect, the most important thing is that parties tell us what they intend to achieve through their mandate as in terms of improving the environment of doing business, as the aspect of addressing issues related to human capital, with human power, with their training and education, as these are the main concerns of businesses. I fear that political party programmes and their promises are not addressing these that are fundamental problems before moving to the share of monetary investments or the number of jobs that can be created”, Zeka stressed.

He ultimately stressed that businesses and employees who have lost their jobs should be offered assistance from the future government.
