Police Union warns protests, say demands met

The Kosovo Police Union, through a communique directed to the media, has warned protests because the emergency package does not include all KP employees. The Police Union says their demands are not realised by the Government of Kosovo. Kosovo Police General “

The Police Union says their demands are not realised by the Government of Kosovo.

The Kosovo Police's “Sindition of the now and a long time ago calls for the Government of the Republic of Kosovo to realise their earlier requirements. The requirements were to continue the payment of the emergency package for all KP employees, indiscriminately position and unit, and the start of the shush (food) payment under a commitment from January 2021 to all Kosovo Police officers.

But even after many successive efforts and requirements, there is still no answer to the realization of such vows. Because not all police officials are getting involved in paying the package. And for food food we have no answer that it will be paid according to the legislation in force, but also according to pledges that it will start from this beginning of the year”, it is said in response.

Further in response, it is said that “Aday, looking at the SPK Steering Council, today on the date 21.01.2021, at the meeting held, has decided to warn protests in view of the concern, discrimination and bypass of KP employees.

And for this we seek quick and concrete reflection of the government of the country, since the selection of our union actions will now be just protest”.

Otherwise, Kosovo's incumbent government at the meeting held today has made a decision to share additional means for police officials and health personnel.

To realise compensation for the added commitment on the ground of active police officials exposed directly to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Government at today's meeting has approved the decision to share financial means in many of the 1.6m euros.
